Welcome, and congrats on sobriety. It's not easy, I've got family in prison right now for drug use. Never done drugs myself(except salvia, fuck that shit), but I'm a social drinker.

That's good man.
I know the stereotype of recovering people is that others who can socially 'use' are actually addicted.
Personally I respect people who can truly socially use.
And with my story, I've been through a LOT of shit.
Almost got tagged with aggravated attempted homicide, and for trafficking I almost got life :/
Thank God I didn't, and that I'm here now

Yeah, I had a phase when I was 18 and had just joined the military where I was just itching to drink all the time, every weekend I was hammered and puking all over the place, falling asleep in bathtubs and shit. Now, I can go 6 months without touching beer or any type of alcohol and be perfectly fine. Hell, I just picked up my first 6 pack in over 6 months this past weekend, had 3 beers in about 6 hours, the other 3 are still in my fridge.
It's good to hear that you aren't in prison. Like I said, I've never done it, but my biological mother is in prison right now for using/dealing, and her brother died in 2007 just before his 43rd birthday from drug use and/or a deal gone bad. Never got any confirmation on which, but we think someone tried to hit him over a deal. Those 2 are the main reasons I DON'T use, because I saw how bad their lives were.
Just so everyone knows, I'm not saying ALL users are bad people or do stupid shit, I'm just saying that this is MY experience with users. Not calling anyone a bad person.

Hey! I'm new here too, and I'm going to continue the congratulatory comments on your sobriety! Those are some impressive times, and even though I don't know you, I'm glad you're in recovery. My brother is a user, among other things.. It's not a pretty, or easy thing. It makes me glad to see people getting themselves help/out of using.
Congrats again though, and I hope you enjoy your time here like I'm thinking I will.
