So I just stretched my ears to a 14g and I was wondering if I can keep that expander in for the whole month or do I have to switch to a plug?
If I do then how long should I wait to switch?
Please and thanks!

Tapers are jewelry and shouldn't be worn for any amount of time. Use them to stretch then slide the plug in behind it. Get some glass or steel plugs asap.

Haha, I believe you made a typo. He means tapers are NOT jewelry and shouldn't be worn for any amount of time. Yes, you need to get some plugs or barbells ASAP. Even though a 14g is not going to cause any real harm by wearing the taper, it's best to not get into the habit of doing it at all, because when you get to the larger sizes, wearing the tapers can cause significant problems for you.

What about if you use pinchers? I use them because they distribute/balance the weight evenly. Is it safe to use those as jewelry?

Those are safe as well as spirals and boomerangs

Yes, they do distribute weight evenly.
But I would still argue that you should not wear them, because they get so easily caught on clothing, hair, pillow, whatever and can cause a nasty tear and just get knocked around more, irritating a fresh stretch.
