Re Stretching What Size?

I had my ears at a 10 gauge but then they closed up. I'm going tomorrow to have them re-stretched (I tried myself but it wouldn't go through) I was planning on going to a 14 but I heard that you can go down to an 8. I'd like to go to an 8 but it doesn't seem safe, should I?

Have they closed up all the way or is the hole just smaller? Are you talking about getting them repierced or stretched back up? If you get them repierced, 8G is perfectly fine. But if you're planning on getting a small hole stretched up to 8G, don't do it. Start at a size you can put in with no pain or resistance and slowly work your way up.

They're closed, thanks for the reply by the way.
I went to a professional and asked him becasue the first time I did it in an immature way.
He said I can go to an 8 but if I go to a 12 or something small the healing time will be much shorter so I think that's what I'm going to do.

Just keep in mind that even if the 12 will heal up a bit quicker, you still have to wait a month or 2 between sizes at the smaller sizes, so it might be worth it to go straight to 8. Plus, it will save you money if you don't already have the tools to go from 12-8.
