I got a slight variation of a monroe piercing 15 days ago.. i got it pierced with a stud even though the end result is supposed to have a loop.. im anxious to change the jewelry already...
:|

this is my 9th piercing but i cant seem to remember how soon i've changed my jewelry before.. i usually just get it pierced with the jewelry i want to keep in anyways so its never been an issue.

by the way, i dont wanna hear what your piercer once told you.. i mostly wanna hear from experience only. how soon did any of you switch jewelry after a piercing and how did it go.. ??

-Thanks

You should wait until the piercing is fully healed (usually at least 8 weeks with a lip piercing) before changing the jewelry. This is especially true if you're changing to a ring since they can be terrible for healing.

Piercings can look/feel healed on the outside but they don't fully heal in 15 days. It MIGHT be healed in 6 weeks but even that's a little soon to put a ring in. Rings move around a lot so they can really piss of piercings.

I had my piercer swap out my vertical labret after just 3 weeks. It started hurting again pretty bad after he did the swap for me, so IMO, you should definitely wait a bit longer.
