Ok, I gauged my ears to a 14g about two to three weeks ago. I haven't taken out my barbells for longer than five minutes to clean out some yellow discharge but I always put them right back in afterwards. But, I've been really wanting to wear my leaf shaped earrings for a couple days. The problem is the earrings are a 20g and I have no idea if my ears will close up in the eight hours without my barbells. Should I wait longer before even thinking about going without my barbells?

^ Agreed.
Plus, they probably will shrink back down at such a small size, then if you stretch them back up to 14G you'll be skipping a couple sizes which is never a good idea. If you still want to wear regular earrings you should probably wait a while before you commit to stretching.

Iv heard of people poking holes in flesh tone hider plugs like these:
http://www.kaossoftwear.com/index.php?m ... 3nkv2srji2, to make them look more realistic and wear small gauge jewelry. Kaos makes the best slicone plugs but the smallest they have is 10g and i havnt seen them smaller. So you might have to wait till your at 10g to wear your 20g jewelry, ironic isn't it.
