I'm currently at 4ga and used tapers to stretch. I didn't really see the use in buying plugs because I was planning on going up a size once the stretch heals. I just recently discovered that they aren't supposed to be used as long term wear and I wish I would've got some plugs too.

I'm new to ear stretching and used to smaller tapers. From now on I'll buy plugs to put in immediately after.

I've had the 4ga tapers in for a day now, and was wondering if it was ok to take them out and put my 6ga earrings back in until I get some 4g plugs?

Yep
Restretching is generally easier the second time round anyway, and it can help to thicken lobes up too
Steel/glass single/no flare plugs will be your best bet.

i wouldnt trip about it lol i wore tapers for all my sizes till like 00g cuz they were to heavy and i dont sleep well with tapers in. downsizing is always a gud idea to help with ur lobes health
