i got my ears pierced in january at 8mm and stretched it up to 16mm and a big lump appeared near the hole.it never really bothered me until now.its hard and ugly but doesnt hurt.i dont know if its scar tissue or a blowout but im worried.when i put on my plug its hard to flare it cuz its like an extra piece of flesh on my ear. i do oil rubs with jojoba, vitamin e and grapeseed everyday.
I can't see any lumps or anything in the pictures so I can't tell you for sure what it is, but if you stretched that quickly and that soon after an initial piercing a blowout or scar tissue is very likely. You need to wait about 6 months after a piercing to do your first stretch, and 6-8+ weeks between sizes after that.
When you say you were pierced at 8mm, was it a needle or a dermal punch? Dermal punches are awful for lobes because they remove tissue and can cause thinning. You might want to downsize, sleep without plugs, etc. for a while. You'll need to do that for a blowout or scar tissue anyway.
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH. My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!
I agree with Lindsay and echo what she says to do. You sound like you stretched too soon after you got pierced and too fast. I think I can see what your talking about in the second photo though. It does look like a blowout but its hard to tell with the images being so small.
