Hey Guys,

How do these soft plugs work? I was thinking of getting a pair. Do you need to wear them sort of every other day with something harder so your lobes don't shrink? #i stretched to 6mm l and 8mm r last week and wanted to try some out...

I wear my earskins a lot. Honestly, I have had no problem with my ears shrinking. Just be sure you have let your ears heal completely before you start using earskins or you could irritate your lobes something fierce.

Cool, cheers. when you say 'heal', do you mean from like the original open piercing or from the new stretch? How long would you give it do you think?

I mean heal from the latest stretch. It's hard to say how long since everyone is different, but it was probably 6 weeks before I didn't feel itchy when I wore them too long. I'd guestimate that 6-8 weeks is probably a safe time to wait.

Your ears won't shrink around them but since silicone can be drying you'll want to use some lube/do an oil massage before you put in other jewelry or it might feel really tight going in. I love earskins but I usually only wear them for 2-3 days at a time at the most. But I can usually wear them a couple weeks after a stretch with no problems.

I can wear them 1 week after a fresh stretch without any irratation, but I don't wear them during the day, I just wear them to sleep in!! I have friends who wear them all the time.

I personally LOVE my Kaos plugs. I have black white and clear at my current gauge (2g) but I waited about 4 weeks til I put them in. I'd say 6 weeks if you wanna be safe and if you have the patience. Another great thing about them is that they make your ears look like a size or 2 bigger than what they really are. Also adding on to what Lindsay said yes they do dry your ears out and I found that jojoba oil and holey butt'r gets soaked up pretty fast when I wear them so I use vitamin E oil (because it's super thick and takes awhile for your ears to absorb) to keep my plugs and ears moisturized. I like to rotate my plugs throughout the day. But Kaos is the only silicone brand I will pay for now, I bought silicone eyelets from Spencers and they were trash. Okay well I'm done blabbering on.
