Blowout or just swelling?

So after about a year and a half of having 1" plugs, I wanted to finally upsize. So a week ago, I started to tape my plugs. Everything went fine, minor discomfort but quickly went away. Then, a couple of days ago, remembering how easily I used to be able to add layers before, I added another layer of tape. Left ear took it nicely as usual, however my right ear, being the bitch ear, had difficulty taking it in. I finally popped it in after a little bit of struggle.
Now, two days later, it still feels sore, is a wee bit red, and I'm scared it is starting to blow out. Or is it just swollen? Should I take it out, downsize, wait it out, or what? Help would be GREATLY appreciated. Here are links to pics of my ear:

Sorry I couldn't get to this post earlier. It looks blown to me. What you should have done is taken your jewelery out and treated your ear like a fresh piercing. Daily sea salt baths and going without your jewelery for a couple Weeks or much longer, it depends on your ear. The blowout is probably healed by now and I think you're stick with it.
