OK well I got peirced at 8g about 4 days ago. The thing is the jewelry the piercer gave me (the only 8g piece he had that wasn't acrylic, captive bead hoops) is real heavy and I keep hitting them because they hang low. I was wondering if I sterilize everything if I could put these light 8g surgical steel screw on tunnels in so I wouldn't bang them as much and wouldn't stretch my freshly pierced ears as bad as these, lol. Thanks!

If you want to change jewelry, you should have your piercer do it. That said, if the piercer you went to only carries cbrs or acrylic stuff, find someone else. I don't know any reputable shops in my area that even HAVE acrylic jewelry. That sounds more than slightly dodgey.
Short version: no. Don't change them yourself. Also, find a better piercer.

He has like over 150 metal pieces he was just on his last metal 8g piece. He also has over 89 5 star reviews online. It's just that these hang low and I'm always bumping them

My recommendation still stands, I'd strongly encourage you to have your piercer change your jewelry for you. They can autoclave it and change it in a sterile environment. With your piercings being so new, they are still highly susceptible to infection.

If you've only had them pierced for four days you'll need the jewelry sterilized, so definitely go to your piercer. I was pierced with 10G rings and ended up changing them myself after 3 or 4 weeks, but since your piercings are so new I'd get a professional to do it.
