What jewellery to wear when I've used a taper to stretch up?

So far I've been using rounded titanium plugs with rubber rings when letting my ears heal, like these ones:

I've heard single flared tunnels are good to wear when healing as well, and to obviously avoid double flared.
But I'm wondering, would it be okay to wear double flared ones if they are screw-fit, as surely they'd be the same or similar to the single flare as I wouldn't be forcing the larger flare through?
Something like this (btw I know it's the wrong size, just to show you what I mean):

Also, in a couple of months when I'll stretch up again, would it be better to stretch from 6mm to 7mm and then 8mm, or just from 6mm straight to 8mm?

Thanks in advance for any replies :)

As long as the screw fit end is internally threaded, you should be in good shape. When the threads are on the outside of the post, they can scratch or cut your piercing. Basically any smooth plug without a flare on the insertion end, made of a safe material is fine for stretching. I stretch with both glass plugs and steel tunnels (single flare). They both seem to work equally for me.

As far as stretching from 6mm to 8mm I definitely recommend you stretch to 7mm first. This will be as comfortable as any previous stretch you will have done and it won't push the limits of your skin. In standard wire gauges, this is going from 2g to 1g to 0g. There are several of us on this board who recommend this method over stretching immediately to 0g. : )
