I just started stretching, and I've heard and read about massaging with vitamin E/jojoba oil. so, what exactly is this for? to improve circulation, keep earlobes healthy, etc? and this may sound stupid, but I was also wondering if it's ok to use vitamin E ointment rather than actual oil. how often do I do it? and how long after a stretch should I start/resume the massaging routine?
and what do you guys have to say about sea salt soaks? when, how often?
Thanks!

Re: Vitamin E
you didnt say how long youve been stretching or what size you are but I hope this answers your questions
ok so sea salt soaks you really only need them if you have a tough stretch ( if you wait the right amount of time your stretch will be PAINLESS and have very little or no resistance )if you find your ears a bit sore or red after a stretch do your sea salt soaks once or twice a day for about 1 to 2 weeks till they are no longer sore , otherwise just wash your ears and plugs daily .dont over due the salt soaks , do not use regular iodised table salt and dont make your mixture too salty
Vit E oil ( first off use it to lube the taper to stretch ) after that lay off the oil for the first few days , as long as your ears arent sore start doing the vit E oil massages around the end of the first week .Do them every day when you clean your ears make it your routine . Vit E helps break down scar tissue and encourages blood flow and collagen development (which is what makes ears stretching possible
) also Vit e oil helps you insert your plugs at about 8 ga and up and possibly smaller you can easily "Indian burn " the inside or your hole and lube lets the plugs slide in easy
as far as vit E ointment , it is ok in a pinch for temp use but as an everyday day thing it really just clogs your pours its sticky and sets on the skin and can actually draw bacteria to the plug because its so sticky ..
good luck remember to give your ears lots of time between stretches ideally 8 weeks or more ( regaurdless of if they "feel fine " your body needs time to replace that collagen ).. good luck and happy stretching
