another problem... may retire

Hey guys,

so... seems like I have yet another problem with my lobes.

My left 3mm tunnel keeps getting mangled/pulled out during the night. It's pretty loose on my lobe, but the hole was only pierced in August so don't wanna try stretching yet. It was pierced at 3mm.

Anyway, I've got a purplish 'spot' on the edge of the hole (fistula?). You can't see it normally, but if I put a but of pressure on the back of my lobe it is really clear, and around the hole is a little purplish. It doesn't really hurt or anything. It is a little raised and almost seems to be like a blister or full or something. I'm hoping it's not some kind of scarring (keloid or otherwise).

What the devil is going on this time? Don't really know why I keep having problems. Kinda getting a bit fed up and thinking of retiring my lobes.

Here is a pic (should have posted this topic in the photo section I suppose!).

As always, any help/advice would be gratefully received.

Cheers guys.

You just had issues recently with some material or oil, right? This may simply be the result of your fistula recovering from the other troubles. I would encourage you to simply give your ears some time to stabilize and see where they stand at the end of the year. Some people have more sensitive skin than others perhaps you are one of them.

One thing you can try is simply removing your jewelry before you go to bed. That may resolve some of your issues. It the tunnel is loose and coming out in the night, it is highly unlikely your ears will close up, but it may help make things easier on your ears. I typically spend a certain amount of my day with my jewelry out anyway, to maximize bloodflow. You may find you heal faster when you sleep with naked lobes. : )

Keep us updated.

Hey,

Thanks for this. I don't really know what the problem is to be honest. Think it's just something I must be doing.

Well... it turns out I am a total idiot. Both my lobes had been feeling a lot better. The redness around my left lobe had healed up quite a bit. I thought to myself this morning 'wonder if they are 'ready' to be stretched yet?'. I had a go on both lobes in the shower this morning and the next sizes up went in to both lobes pretty easily. I kinda thought I was rushing it at was a bit of an idiot so took them out and went back to the smaller size straight away. I think I might have got away with it but my left lobe is a little sore now!!! MUST WAIT! I suffer from quite severe OCD which doesn't help. It kind of makes me really obsessive over things like this - i.e. gotta stretch, gotta stretch, gotta stretch (you get the idea).

Anyway, a bit of antiseptic cream and back to the old sizes for now...

Ditch the antiseptic cream; it's really not gonna do anything for healing. Some doctors prescribe it to people with infections but you don't have an infection. You should just do some SSS, and make sure it's not too salty.

It is hard to resist the urge to stretch but honestly, now that I'm one size away from my final goal I wish I could stretch more. That's why I've changed my goal size three or four times, haha.

Think one of my 'o' rings went down the plug hole the other morning and haven't got around to sorting a spare out yet!
