Not sure if a blow out

So I stretched to a 9/16 from 1/2 using the tape method and I had a small stretch to go to fit them so I pushed my left one in fine did my right and it burned alot so I left it in to settle till I looked at it the next day I kinda looks like the skin goes outward a little but not like what I usually see with blowouts and its just in a certain part not all around, so is it a blow out? If so you cant stretch those can you :( Id take a pic but its hard too see its a very small outward flare

It sounds like a blowout. I would downsize and let it heal before you start going back up. The sooner you take care of it, the better it will heal. : )

Re: Not sure if a blow out

So I went down two sizes to a 7/16 for the sake of more lobe and hoping it goes away. Bad side is I couldnt downsize right when I did it which was on saturday and I noticed it monday...it was alrdy healing but barely cause I did tear my ear a little im gonna be honest it was pissing me off and I shoved it in and thats the last time I do that...but would the few days matter of it going back? If it doesnt heal all the way im just gonna wait two months and scalpell to an inch

It's probably not going to take too long to straighten out since you took care of it within a couple days. Because there is a tear, you should really let everything heal for a good 6-8 weeks minimum before you do anything including scalpelling.

Speaking of scalpelling, two things.

First, are your piercing positioned badly? I wouldn't really encourage scalpelling unless you're trying to fix a position problem. I generally recommend stretching over scalpelling for several reasons. It is more reversable, you value your lobes more when you went through the journey and it helps to gain knowledge wisdom and patience.

The second thing is this: what is your goal size? If your goal is one inch, then it would be better to scalpel your ears to something smaller and stretch up one inch. Ears become pretty stretchy after being cut, so going straight to your goal could cause your plugs to fall out after you heal, meaning you'd have to go up more. I would encourage you to talk to your piercer at length about scalpelling before you decide to just go for it.

I hope everything works out for you on your journey. : )

Re: Not sure if a blow out

I definately need to correct the position of the ear that blew out so I have to do both and ill save the scalpelling till im at 5/8 and do it for 3/4 and go from that, but as for my blowout im just concerned how long it will take to go back so I can begin oil massages, and do I wait till it goes back till I start removing my plugs to clean it its my first one I only know procedures not when to do them Im currently wearing single flares in my ears backwards.

Re: Not sure if a blow out

I would wait to do oil massages until the year isn't tender. Once you get to that point, you should be ready to start massages, which will help the blowout. The fact that you downsized will also help. I can't give a specific amout of time before things heal up, but it sounds like it was a small blowout and you acted quickly, so I suspect it will heal quickly too. : )

As far as scalpelling, I would definitely talk to a good piercer and get their input. They will be able to help you get great looking lobes. : )

Since everyone's body is so different I can't give you answer except "hopefully soon." just keep an eye on it and you'll know when it starts to improve. : )
