Healing Over Tunnels..

Hello

So recently I finished stretching one of my ears to 6mm/2G. I bought some plugs and tunnels on ebay and I stuck one in.

It is built like this one: http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/8788/plugsx.jpg

It was probably in for maybe two weeks, when I went to take it out and put in another. My ear "healed" through the holes and had joined up in the middle. I managed to get it out with minimal damage and considered just letting my ears heal up and being done with it.

Is there any way of preventing this, maybe filling in the center with something? Or will spinning them around daily prevent this? (I admit, I did not spin them and I know I probably should have). Or are they just a poor design? :S

I really like them, they have a cool Quake logo on them, but I really do not want to go through that again...

Thanks for any help

well I would say those plugs are a terrible design I would not wear them again . you can get the same design on front without having anything on the wearable area ..and no you shouldnt twist your plugs its a myth .. but I think you should take your plugs out more often to see whats going on inside , I take my plugs out every day in the shower to clean them and my ears then oil and reinsert when Im out of the shower .. taking them out everyday is a good thing so you can spot any problems before they get out of hand .. good luck .. do you have a pic of your lobe ?

I agree with Jayne. Those plugs are poorly designed. I saw some like them and thought "those can't be safe." I think you just confirmed my suspicion. Anyway, yeah, holds in the wearable area Are generally a bad idea. I hope everything heals up alright.
