I don't hate them, they're just very troublesome. Been at a 2g in my left lobe for around 5 months, and started taping for the last two months/1.5 months or so. My jewelery was less than a mm from 0 from the tape. I was dicking around with some old 0g tapers in a kit I had bought, no pain, no problems, so I pushed a bit, felt a bit of a stretch, and it went right in without me even trying to stretch. I was surprised, until I found a tear, and it started to hurt. Second time this has happened. No issues, waited a while, and then accidentally tear my lobes from mild pressure. I downsized after around 10 minutes to my taped 2g. I'm throwing out my tapers, more trouble to my lobes than they're worth.
Sorry, ranting. Anyone experience anything similar?

Re: I hate my lobes.
Not exactly, but I was blessed with stretchy lobes and I was pierced at 10g to boot. That said, 2g to 0g is a tough stretch since it's 2mm. Why not take a pit stop at 1g and give your ears a rest. Glasswear studio sells 1g plugs. I would say this would go double for you since it sounds like your ears aren't as forgiving.
That aside, if you have a tear, you should really go back down to 2g and let your lobes heal. Once they aren't sore or swept anymore, do vitamin e oil massages to break down the scar tissue, otherwise your ears will be even less stretchy as time goes along. Scar tissue tears more than it stretches.
