Odd earlobes

Hey guys!
Okay, so I'm new to this thing and I've been doing quite a bit of research around the internet and talking to friends/people and I'm struggling to come across anybody or very many people to have the same issue as me.
With my earlobes both being at 25mm/1 inch I find it rather uncomfortable to sleep with plugs/tunnels in as they tend to push into the side of my neck. I can take my right plug out, go to sleep, wake up and put my plug back in no problem, no shrinkage. Although it's a completely different story with my left earlobe. It shrinks a good few mm every time I take my plug out, thus causing a problem resulting in me looking ridiculous with odd sizes aswell as the discomfort of having to stretch up again.
Does anybody else have the same problem as me? Does anybody have any useful tips I may try? I take good care of them, as should anybody with theirs.
Or are my earlobes odd?
