I've been at 13/16ths for over a month now, and decided to stretch to 7/8ths. I had a gap, a rather big one at that, so i thought if i bought a 7/8ths taper it could do what little stretching needed to be done. I did this on my right ear, following through with an acrylic single flare plug, and again a few days later with my left ear. I experienced more pain than expected, but no blood so i figured i was in the clear. my ears were feeling better, so i decided to clean them with some antibacterial soap. i then realized there was some crusty goodness behind the o ring of my right plug. i immediately bought some steel single flare tunnels, cleaned them and put them in to help the healing process and prevent infection.
This is where things went bad. My right lobe was swelling over the wearable area and behind the tunnel. i tried to push my lobe back onto the plug's wearable area. oh shit, blood. this was the first time ive ever bled from stretching so i opted to take the 7/8ths out and put in steel 13/16ths tunnels, heal up and try a safer method of stretching to get to 7/8ths. But no, the bullshit ceased to end. that night my right ear, the one that bled, pushed the 13/16ths plug out too. i then put in a half inch steel tunnel. At this point the swelling was huge, my hole looked incomparably smaller, the half inch plug coats its self in a murky white-ish yellow puss excrement on an hourly basis, is raw to the touch and im freaking out.
I sit here in front of my computer with a bare right ear, i've done sea salt soaks and cleaned it several times today but i still feel horrible. Is my ear infected? should i seek medical attention? should i put in a plug or keep my lobe naked?
if anyone minded to read my long story, your input would be gratefully appreciated.
Jeremy.
