O ring troubles?

So I stretched up to a 12g today after waiting for about 3 weeks. and I put some glass plugs in for school, but since my plugs are still so small, I'm really having a hard time getting these tiny little o rings on.

Is there a certain way i should be doing this or any tips on how to get them on? Im afraid also of messing up because the O rings are so small that they'll be gone forever if I drop it since theyre clear.

Any help is appreciated

Cheers

what i use to do is keep the back ones on and pull the front ones off so when i put them back on i can look in the mirror from a front view, cause its much more difficult trying to see behind you than infront.

If you're wearing SF plugs, you can either

a) put them in backwards, meaning you won't see the front, which kind of makes the flare pointless, but you can see what you are doing, putting the o-rings on until you are better with them.

or

b) You can put towel in the bottom of your bathroom sink. Lean over the sink and put the o-rings on. If you drop one, it will land on the towel and not bounce, so you can pick it up and start again.

Finally, you can get black o-rings as well as clear. The black ones are easier to see if you drop one, but I have found they are a little less stretchy in my experience, so they can be a bit tougher to work with. Mind you, I haven't seen every kind of o-ring out there, but the black ones I have all seem to be a little harder to get on to jewelry.

Regardless, small o-rings are hard to work with, so patience is also vital to the process. Best of luck!

Captive hoops are a good alternative, too. :]
Although the ball might pose an entirely different problem... I don't know how big your fingers are, but I preferred the ball over the itty bitty o-rings on plugs that size.

oh my goodness, the hoops for me were so much harder than any o rings. i couldnt get the little ball on and really irritated my ears tugging and pulling. but the ones with two balls on the end were much easier to use, so that may help!

i agree with TheGreyEyedMonster the kind with 2 balls are alot easier , I wore them up to 10 ga before I felt like they were getting heavy

I had some circular barbells that were internally threaded for my septum when it was 14g. It was hell trying to thread the balls on. I've learned to love captive bead rings but they do take some patience while you're first getting used to it. I'm going to order an 8g ball and socket ring from bodycircle next week so I'll get it as my latest stretch calms down.

dont you find them to be to heavy in the single digits ? I love cbrs but i feel like at 10 they start to get kinda heavy for everyday wear and the ball gets harder and harder to get in and out at least for me lol I ordered a pair of 6 ga pink stainless anodized cbrs when I was at 6 ga ( they were only like 5 $ luckily ) because I never ever got to wear them .. I just can not get the ball off ..lol.. in fact if you are interested when you get to 6 ga message me and I will see about sending them to you .. Id like some one to get some use out of them lol

I definitely find CBRs to be a little heavy in the ears. As far as my septum, we'll have to see. I popped one of the ones I have for my ears (8g) in yesterday and it wasn't too bad. The diameter was a little big since they were bought for my ears.

When my lobes were at 4g (before that &^!*&#^*& horn plug nicked me) I had some CBRs for them that I wore occasionally. They were fun for a few hours, but they would eventually start to make my lobes ache, so I'd swap them out for plugs. They do look great when I'm performing with my band, though. : D

I do appreciate the offer of the 6g rings, but pink isn't really within my color palette. As a guy who tends to wear dark colors, I'd think people would find it an odd choice. ; )
