Hey everyone. So I had stretched from a 2g to a 0g on Monday and had recently noticed today how swollen my ears were, there was little blood and they were sore. I thought then it was a good time to downsize back to a 2g. So I put my steel plugs back in but then i started to notice that my ears were secreting a clear and odorless liquid... I started to panic a bit and decided to take out my gauges for the time being. I'm not too worried about my holes closing up at this point. I haven't had a blow-out yet or any problems with my journey thus far. Am I going through an episode of House?
I've had my 2g in for about 6 months and stretched with an acrylic taper (ICK, I know.) I have been stretching with acrylics since 6g to now. Pretty calm, just want to know what's going on for the most part. Haha.
Did I go too fast?

You waited plenty of time, but 2G-0G is a difficult stretch. Try 1G jewelry (available on bodyartforms.com, bodyjewelleryshop.com, glasswearstudios.com, and a few other sites). It's definitely a big help because 2G-0G is a HUGE jump.
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

Re: Did I go too fast?
i would do what corozon de oro said or you could do what I did
I had a 2g for 5 months (maybe 6, somewhere around there) and I did the stretch with no problem...anyhow, good luck! lol also, I stretch with acrylic too XD I just recently found out they're not good for stretching but they never caused me problems either :3

Right ear: 0g, two 6gs on lobe; 2g on cartilage....
goal: 00 on lobe! perhaps a 0g on cartilage?
Left ear: 8g, two 14gs on lobe; 14g on cartilage
goal: 00 on lobe!

Re: Did I go too fast?
Yes, 2g to 0g is a huge jump. Although I was at a 2g for a little over a month, it was still tough. I was stubborn to the downsizing alternative, but luckily I made it through the healing process with no blow outs and serious scar tissue. It took a lot of patience and pampering. Would I suggest this jump? NO, NO, NO...but everyone is different. I didn't know much about the 1g size, because most standard sizing charts make no mention of it. Now I'm wondering is there a secret size between 0g and 00g...maybe 0.5g? lol

It looks like a 0g-00g stretch is only 1mm. Just give it plenty of time to heal (A good few months. 4 at the least) and then see if your lobe will be happy with the stretch. If not, just give it longer. Anyway, I'm sure, if nothing else, you can get 9mm glass plugs.
That said, a 1mm difference at that size can make the the circumference a lot heftier.
8mm - ~50mm circumference
9mm - ~64mm circumference
That's quite a jump as opposed to this:
6g (4mm) - ~13mm circumference
4g(5mm) - ~20mm circumference
Also, if you want something even more gradual, try using PTFE tape to slowly increase the size of your existing plugs, a couple wraps every 4-5 days. Have a caliper handy and measure as you go, until you get to the next size. : D
