Put in bad wood plugs

So I put in my wooden plugs today. I would sometimes forget to take them out when I got into the shower and didn't realize I had them on till I wet my hair, but immediately took them out and dried them off the best I could when that happened. I haven't worn these wooden plugs for very long, maybe 3 weeks. But I would also leave them in the bathroom as well when I was wearing something else (which I found out today is a bad idea because of the steam from the shower) But when I put them in, one of the plugs got very itchy, so I took it out and noticed that my lobe is producing a clear liquid, so I am assuming its irritated. So I guess my expensive wood plugs that I hardly got to use are useless now. But I'm not quite sure how to take care of what has happened. I'm going to soak it in salt water now, though I'm not sure how to soak my lobe. Anything else I should do? I have silicone plugs and some regular plastic ones. I heard that silicone isn't good for stretching so would it be bad if i put them back in with irritated lobes? I just realized how long this was
