are wooden gauges bad for newly stretched ears?

Just today I went from 5/8 to 11/16 in each ear. I didn't use tapers or silicone I just stuck the wooden flared plugs in. I'm not sure what type of wood they are but I know when I bought them the guy behind the counter said wooden gauges aren't good because healing ears can fuse in the pores of the wood. I went on some websites and got mixed reviews on that, though. Some say wooden plugs are great for healing ears while others agree with what the clerk said. I am having a hard time twisting them in my ear which worries me. Help please? I never had a blow out before but I must admit I don't take many precautions before stretching and I'm afraid I may have ripped my ear somewhat this time around from trying to hard to twist the plugs.
Thanks

The guy was correct, stretching with organics is not good. Another thing you need to consider is what species of wood are the plugs made out of? There are a lot of certain types of wood that causes some serious reactions, and unfortunately most companies will continue to make them.
For your situation I would suggest getting some jojoba or coconut oil and try and work it into your lobe/on the jewelry so you can get them to move. End result, you need to get them out of your lobes until you are healed at that size.

^everything he said. get some glass or steel jewelry. Even acrylic is better for fresh lobes than organics are.

^Yes, agreed on the jewelry! Also, it would be wise to not use someone else used jewelry... keep it safe

whoa!!! acrylic's are just as bad if not worse. some acrylics have carcinogens (cancer causing bad thingies)in em, like the glow in the dark ones. most acrylics are novelty jewelry (only meant to be worn for short periods.) please lets try to help the guy, not kill him. LOL jk. but seriously stick with steel or glass. steel isn't that great depending on what grade it is and if your like me steel will eff yo lobes up. super sensitive to some of that shit. so I gotta get high grade steel, titanium, or niobium. but some times people lie bout what theyre selling you (Like spencers) so I just wear glass and stone that I find online.

acrylic is just fine as long as you arent shoving them into gaping flesh wounds.
