Should I go from 20g to 16g?

So I tried stretching my ears yesterday with a 14g taper. In one ear (my left) it went fine with no resistance. My right didn't want to go through so I just stop and took out the other one out and put back my 20g regular earrings.
I just bought a 16g captive bead ring today from Bodyartforms.com.
Would it be alright to use that or should I get some 18g captive rings?

It sucks two spend the cash, but yeah get the 14g because you need to let your lobes stretch slow, slow, slow. The beginning is important. Just keep the 14g in for 3-4 wks. It is important to wait even if the 16g might go right in no prob.

Hahaha I don't think you understood my question.
I meant that I have 14g tapers and I tried putting them in my ears. One went in successfully the other had some resistance to it. So I took the tapers out.
I bought some 16g captive bead rings but I haven't recived them yet.
Since one of the 14g tapers went in one of my ears I decided to skip 18g and go to 16g.
I heard that using a captive bead ring would be dead stretching.
Sorry for the confusion.

um 14 is bigger than 16 ,I think you are a lil confused or just mis-typed lol .. 18 ga would be your best bet , but if the 16s go in with no pain and no resistance it should be ok .. how long have you had your original 20 ga piercing

Hey dude^^, the first time I stretched my ears I have started at 2g (6mm) and after i go to 8mm and after 12mm and after 16mm and after 20mm and after 1inch ( 25mm . Dont worry that doesn't hurt! and you keep you'r money, all you have to do is: apply olive oil when you wash you'r lobes. ( sorry for my english i'm a french canadian T_T ).
Don't worrry be happy ^^

Don't listen to the person right above me, haha. Whatever you do.
Try the 16G, and if that doesn't work, get something in 18G.

Just go slow, I know it'd suck if you have to go smaller but it'll be better in the long run!
