is it okay to stretch using masking tape?

I wrapped my 5/8" double flares in masking tape (all I had aside from toxic electrical tape) and with the aid of some holey butt'r I managed to get them in without too much trouble. I can get a 3/4" taper through my left ear no problem but my right ear will only take an 11/16 taper, the 3/4 would take a great deal of forcing through and I don't want a blowout happening.

just wanted to make sure that the masking tape wasn't gonna like fuse to my ear or do something crazy, because so long as that isn't the case it seems to be great. the plugs are both fitting nice and snug in my ears and I can still rotate them because they're all nice and lubed up with the holey butt'r.

thanks guys. I've never done taping before and I'm housebound so I couldn't go out and get teflon tape or bondage tape.

hopefully somebody will answer soon cause I don't wanna wake up in the morning with these things like permanently glued to me or something ;)

GOD NO! GET IT OUT!
The problem with electrical tape is the adhesive, it leaks out and can be toxic when it ievitably leeches into micro tears (everyone gets them, not the same as tears) and gets stuck to your ear.
Masking tape has the same issue, as well as being porous and really easy easier to fuse into skin. Plus its really rough.

I use masking tape (to stick paper!) all the time, but when I used it on my skin for half a day as a bandage of sorts... Highly allegic, massive itchy welts.

Take it off, go get some Teflon/PTFE/plumbers tape from a DIY store. Its really really cheap, so no excuse. Just lube it well.
