Hey guys, I'm currently a new member and really like it here already. I really need some help as I can;t find any answer that are suitable for me! :(

I had my ear pierced last year (september 2010), while having the original piercing I played a friendly game of rugby, when my earring got ripped down, not ripped out, but down! I didn't really notice it , and than after 2 months of the piercing date I started stretching. It was all good, and I moved from the regular piercing to a 2mm, then a 3mm, then 5mm and onto the 6mm being my last.

After people telling me how low my piercing was (the hole hangs down just below the centre of the earlobe, as the piercer actually didn't pierce it in the centre)so I took it out about the start of February. Anyway it,s the 16th of May 2011, and my hole hasn't healed yet, I'm really devastated and really want to re-stretch my ear, but it's not healing in, it's just a healed up hole! I want it to heal into nothing again so I can re-stretch! Please help.

Kind regards, nungamagic.

well what you should do is let it close and let it heal for 3-6 monthes it sucks but i know then go get it re-peirced again from a different place then you can start to stretch it out again  i hope this helps

You stretched way too soon, even if you hadn't gotten injured. It takes about 3 months for a lobe to heal fully, and you need three more months to let it strengthen before you stretch for the first time. If you tear your piercing, the healing time starts over.

Two month later is November, you took out 6mm jewelry in February, so this is what went wrong. The day it was injured you should have considered that day one of healing, you were back to square one basically. You shouldn't have stretched it at all, and you shouldn't have stretched it at least 5 sizes in 4 months. Probably your best bet is to either let it heal entirely and start over with a new and better placed piercing, or to put in your original jewelry and leave it alone for at least 6 months. Saline soaks and oil should be part of your daily routine to encourage healing.

Research stretching, you were doing it much too fast and too soon.
