Haha nothings wrong with small lobes but i felt the same way 
I still feel that way when i see someone at an inch..

Keep going, you'd look good with bigger gauges!
1 inch & 3/8ths of an inch in both ears.
12 gauge in septum.
14 gauge snake bites(left & right side of lip).
10 gauge prince albert.
