HEY THERE =]

Hey there, that's my first post here =].

I pierced my ears about month and a half ago with 14g needle and today i put 10g tunnel into my left ear. I used acrylic taper and a jojoba oil as a lube. Right after i stretched it with the taper i put a 10g tunnel inside. There was a little bit of pain and just 1 red dot of blood on a napkin when i touched it to the back of the hole, but in general, the taper went in easily...took about a minute =]. The right ear hurt too much and wasn't ready so i put the 14g jewel back. I got a few questions and will appreciate your opinions =]

First, I'd like to know what do you think of my method of stretching =]?

The other thing i want to is is how long i need to wait before taking the tunnel off so as to do the jojoba oil and sea salt treatments =] It's been 8 hours since i put it=]

I skipped 12g and I'm wondering whether that's going to affect the eventual shrinking of the hole back to its initial size?

Finally, how much you think i shall wait before trying the right ear again?

Thanks beforehand =]

All best,

sidereal

Take the tunnel out, put your 14g jewellery back in, wait 5 months.

You should not have been stretching, at all. Blood means you ripped your ear.

If you choose not to listen to this advice and the advice of anyone else that posts here, the chance of your ears shrinking back and looking normal again is small.

Thanks for the quick reply...the piercer told me to wait 2 weeks only...i waited 6 and thought I've waited too much...just got the tunnel out and the hole looks quite well actually and there's no pain at all...anyway im gonna give it a bit more time and maybe even get some 12g's. Does it really make that much of a difference at that small size...1.6 to 2.4 millimeters?

Well your piercer is an idiot!! Find a new one :)

It really does matter as much at small sizes as it does at larger sizes. It might seem like only a small amount, but it's actually a PERCENTAGE increase from the previous size, and when you think of it in terms of percentage it's actually quite a decent size difference.

If I were you I really would wait for a few more months to let your ears heal completely before you try stretching again, and yes, next time go to 12g first :)

I wouldn't say your ear is screwed up permanently, but you've most likely done damage.

However if you downsize and then let your ear heal up completely, before starting stretching again slowly, then there shouldn't be any reason why you can't stretch to whatever your goal size is.

Just remember to do sea salt soaks (1/4 teaspon sea salt with a cup of warm water) 2-3 times a day after downsizing (don't take the jewellery out, leave it in)

Your ear will probably be sore for a week or so, but if it's hurting quite a bit right now, just take some ibuprofen or aspirin. That should help a little bit.

One more question...is it alright to wear titanium right now? Or stainless steel is better...and is there any difference if its painted in black...or its better to wear a plain one?

Hey guys, its been almost a month since i ripped my ears and put back the 14g jewelery. The left ear feels pretty good, but the right one still hurts when i touch it and it continues to bleed. What you think is that normal?
