? about my ears

Okay lets make a long story short, a year ago i went from 5/8 to 3/4. Yea i know i missed a size, and when i did it i used silicone, yea i know dumb move. I totally trashed my ears, after 3 days they had to come out, started throbbing, and woke to them bleeding, and had to let them heal and start all over.

Well i had made it back to 11/16. All has been good, i put my 11/16 in about a week ago no problem. Used glass and they slide right in.

My ?, i have been out of town for work, and we were out on alil down time, and was in some water, well when i got back to the room, i noticed both plugs had feel out. I had my emo oil, sea salt, my care kit. But no plugs, but i did happen to have the 3/4 silicone rings in my bag. Not wanting to lose my strecth, and no way to get rings back i them, i oil massaged my ears real good, and thought well, it would only be 1mm this time not 3. So i put them in. I havent really had any pain or discomfort like i did last time, and it really dont feel any worse then shoving a taper in. But they feel kinda like dry skin in the inside were the ring area to the skin is. I am doing my 3 aday sss, and emo oil around the rings, and rubbing on lobes. They dont really hurt, maybe alil sore around suface area, but i can lay my head on pillow and it dont bother them. Just a kinda sunburn dry skin feeling off and on. I put them in lastnight. Just wanted to see if anyone else has had the same, or was i totally gonna jack my ears again.

Okay first i know, it was probally not the best move at all. Just wanted to get that out of the way, that i know that.

I have noticed that the stress has filled like it has let up even more over the last few hours. I have just done another sss, and i have giving lobes and around the surface area a good coating of emu oil, o how i love this stuff. I checked for tears or signs of skin cells, and didnt see anything that i would not have seen on any other normal stretch. I am thinking the dry feeling is maybe micro tears that are trying to stick to rings. I have paid extra attention to not turn rings, but have massaged the emu oil and gave lil unstressful pulling motions during to help with any possible sticking to the rings.

I will beable to get to some glass or steel by weekend, think i should try to remove and change out, or should i just let them stay in for a week or so, as long as i am not seeing any issues. I may have answered all of my own questions, due to the fact that i have been dealing with stretching piercings since the 90's. But sometimes is good to bounce thoughts off of others, just to make sure i am not missing something.

I was thinking of getting silicone and nearly did this stretch, mostly for bed over night I was thinking it might be good but I am using acrylic tunnel at the mo at 4mm. I don't know what's more porus but I'd rather just get some glass or metal next stretch but yeah I definetly want to get those flesh colour silicone plugs in the future for interviews and jobs if I stretch big enough so hopefully I won't have a bad reaction even if it's not a fresh stretch like.

Anyway sounds sucky man but just keep it up

Jezzz, i would highly recommend not stretching with either silicone or acrylic. I strongly say glass or steel, glass is my first preference. I learned the bad way in the past about stretching with silicone, that is way i really didnt want to do what i had to do this time. The problem with silicone is that if you tear or rip the skin during the stretch, the skin trys to heal to the silicone, and then when you go to move the silicone, it rips the inside of the piercing, leaving a great chance for a nasty infection. Silicone is deff a great bed time ring, as it is soft and tends to move with your ear.

Lil update, almost 48 hrs since putting rings in, the soreness is just about gone, lil sore in a few areas, but can deff tell that it is almost over. I am almost sure that it will be sticky when i take them out to change, but i keep them soft and flexy with the oil treatments, and faithfully sss.

Okay, well i think i am out of the woods, i was able to get my hands on some stainless steel rings, and finally got the silicone out of my lobes. I can answer the feeling i was having and it was a few micro rips on the inside. Cleaned the lobes real well, the steel slide right in, and it is like heaven in my ears. The rips, well i will have to deal with them, and it will slow the process down, but i will spend the time to get them right.

My advice to any of the new stretchers out there, dont even by silicone for your ear size till they are perfectly healed, that way you wont even think about putting them in.

Yeah i know man, It kinda worried me with thee acrylic but all I've used is acylic cos my last one was a tunnel at 3mm as i got it dermal punched cos I didn't know what I was doing but i duno it's probably good cos atleast it will stop me from stretching too big haha although I may end up wanting to but who knows til I am there and obvs like I will have to think alot more about going too far over the commonly associated 0g 'permant hole limit' size but I read if you stretch you're ears even one time you should be ready for permanent holes.

Awesome news man I duno about you but I live in the UK and it can be stupidy cold whenever and I'm thinking that can be bad for stretches as I have seen a video of someone from the UK who lost one to it but I dunno seems abit strange that he would only lose one but maybe he had a hat on one side or sumthing but that's what I'll do when its cold plus it's summer soon so, perfect weather.

Oh and another Woman on here said that stretching with acrylic anyway is just a myth that it fuses to you're skin. Myself I twisted my jewlerly reguraily even when it was probably abit too tight but this girl said that that probably does more damage than good which I can understand.

Oh and to add; the guy was using glass I think. So I can imagine glass and metal would be bad for cold weather but I guess just cover it with a hat at times atleast to be safe rather than sorry.

His ears were huge though. Around 3 inches and he had them stitched up after that so he mighta not been looking after them so well either cos he didn't want them anymore but perhaps that was mostly cos he had lost one also.

If I were you I wouldn't keep at 3/4 if your ears had rips, especially if you're going to stretch further. You should downsize and wait a few months before retrying. If you're going to keep stretching without downsizing your lobes are going to get really thin.
