I don't think anyone's saying anti-drug stuff because they're illegal, and I think we all realize that alcohol is more dangerous and addictive than a lot of drugs. I honestly think most drugs should be legal because they'd at least be controlled. It is common for Australians to call them Abbos, because it's short for aboriginal. It is not in any way similar to the "N" word that the americans made up for African Americans, and it is not used in an offensive manner.
It is simply a shortening of the word Aboriginal, and none that I knew ever took offense to it. If you were born in raised in Aus like I was, you would know this.
