I understand your concern, do not be like me. I wanted to strech my ears when I turned 18 but every one talk me out of it. Then I started at 24 and all ten earings got ripped out. Worried that job would end and I would have to get a new one. I even took out my nose ring for a six figure job (did not get it). Now at 42 I am finaly at 4G and all I hear from people my age is how bad it is and job will end and I will never get new one. meanwhile your generation looks at me as old wanta be. DO AS U WANT

I'm at gauge 8, and most of the people don't even know. I have long hair so most of the time it's not even visible.
Ofcourse I'm at a tiny size too, I wear a clear acryllic plug, so you don't really see it until you look close.
Skin coloured plugs are a great solution to hide your 'hole' in your ear. They even excist with a tiny hole in them so you can wear normal earrings ;-)

pull the discrimination card on em. its no different than them discriminating against religion, race, looks. they cannot refuse if you are competent and have the right credentials. FUCK EM if they dont like your plugs

Its just a pity that people actually do think that way, its really sad that we've been living so many years and people still discriminate.

Unfortunately they can dictate how you dress what you where and how you look (if that look is something you can change i.e. piercing, died hair ECT). At Walt Disney store girls’ earrings aloud but small men not aloud at all. If you are going to represent their business then they have some rights to tell you how to look. Dominos made me wash car and remove some stickers or I could not deliver for them. You would not expect server at restaurant to look dirty and have stained clothes. It is only the protected areas that you can push on race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, ECT.

Coming from my stand point... it all depends on what field and where you plan on working. I have my ears stretched and to get a job around here is pretty complex. Many places don't find it professional if you have your ears stretched, which is slowly changing as the years go by. I'm in taking a career in graphic design and photography so it honestly doesn't really affect me to much. If you are looking for a job that you have to work in the public, then most likely stretching your ears isn't for you. But like I said, it all depends on where you live and people's views about stretched ears.
