One of the greatest things about a septum piercing is how easy it is to hide.I think unless you stretch it to a pretty big size,plus have a certain shaped nose,it's basically impossible to detect once the retainer is flipped up.I had mine done as a teen & my parents never knew.I had it a number of years & then took out the retainer to clean one day,left it on the sink & then lost it & didn't get around to getting another,& I'm assuming all these years later it must be closed.At the age I am now,I probably won't get it redone,but I do miss it sometimes,I admit.....
