Ripped my ear

Ok so i recently went up to a 6g, probably a little too fast. and im pretty sure i ripped my left ear. My question is do i have other options besides downsizing? The lobe is a little sore, nothing really too painful, and a bit swollen. Also what r the dangers of NOT downsizing at this point? Any help is appreciated

If you don't downsize, you'll be at a bigger risk for a blowout in the next few days, and the swelling will take much longer to go down because there's a lot of pressure on your lobe. Also, the tear can turn into scar tissue.
Definitely start doing some sea salt soaks. Mix no more than 1/4 teaspoon sea salt per one cup hot water, soak for 5-10 minutes once or twice a day.
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

I'm doing the sea salt soaks, and keeping it clean. I don't really feel too much pressure tho, which is one reason I don't want to downsize. Also my other ear is doing great.

even though you may not feel the pressure, you are putting a lot of stress on your lobe tissue. If you want healthy lobes in the long run, it is best to downsize and let it heal for several weeks. it will decrease the liklihood that you will develop scar tissue or blowouts in the future.

I definitely agree with everyone else about doing some SSS every morning, noon (if able), and night. Make sure that you're wearing decent healing jewelry (like glass or titanium). You may use emu oil while it's still healing, but once it's fully healed, you're welcome to do e-oil or jojoba oil massages. I'm sure you'll be fine if you just take care of it and baby it once it's healed. :D Best of luck!

Edit: Also, just as a lesson--NEVER skip sizes or go before your ears are completely healed. I always doubled the wait time between stretches just to be safe. Downsizing IS the best option, but I understand that you don't want to take steps backwards. You will probably want to downsize in the future if this happens again. Also, similar mistakes are far more costly at larger sizes and if anything, you were fortunate to learn at a small size so long as it does not happen again. The magic in ear stretching is patience.
