How long should I wait to take out 3mm dermal punch acyrlic?

I didn't really want to have another dermal punch on this opposite lobe but seeing as I didn't know what I was doing the first time.. but I thought I would want both lobes to be done in the same way so they hopefully will turn out similar.

So on the 20th April this year I got a 2.7mm dermal punch done but with a 3mm tunnel put in that I allready had used for my other ear. So, that's allready been 2 months and a week aprox.

It was pretty much fine until after a month it started to swell and I went back to the peircer and he put a 3mm taper in, to give it room to breath.

It went down all good, but now I'm just wondering how long I should wait to take it out?.

Sounds like you need to find a new piercer if he's willing to dermal punch lobes and put an acrylic taper in an aggravated piercing. Acrylic isn't good for your ears and tapers shouldn't be worn long-term. Try getting some glass, titanium, or steel single-flare/no-flare plugs.

Wait, he punched you at 2.7 but put in 3mm jewelry? o_O Definitely switch out the acrylic to a glass or metal plug. i think screw on internally threaded tunnels would work best for you.

Thanks for replies. I think you are both right ah.. I guess I was just desperate to do it there and then for cheaper but yeah, I guess I'm also abit of a perfectionist aka OCD so I want both lobes to end up the same as much as they can cos it would annoy me. And yeah I don't think I will be going back to him again.. when I asked him before hand about stretching he told me to use vasaline and just let it bleed.... oh dear ah but I didnt do that atleast

Lol, oh dear, no.

Putting in larger jewellery than the punch is kinda normal (if tapered ofc) to stop bleeding and w/e. But theres no need to be punching lobes anyway, only to get rid of giganta-scar tissue or something. You can pierce at 3mm :/

Put a long enough 2.4/3mm barbell or plug in there as soon as you can, and leave it alone. Get a smarter piercer to do it Glass, steel or ti. Acrylic isn't good for fresh wounds. And punches can take a bit longer to heal than same size piercings (depending who you listen to), so yeah... Just leave it alone to heal

Oh yeah thats probos true, think I heard that before. Oh but! I was thinking before as well how actually he said he was going to use the same thing that is used for Prince Albert penis peircings.. so I'm pretty sure it was just a needle actually so hmm, thats probos good but my other ear unfortunatly was done by a different piercer and pretty certan that was defo a punch :/ Yeah I'm gunna have to really get somthing else as soon as i can.

BUT might be hard to tell, maybe i'll try post a photo of my ears, do u think I can get to atleast an inch

If that's the same guy that put an acrylic taper in your ear I wouldn't go back to him for a PA... or anything else!
