Swollen Lobe
I just recently stretch from 16g to 14g in both ears. Both tapers slipped right in with out pain. My right ear had the slightest pinch feeling. It's been 4 days since I've done it and my left ear is fine, no pain, nothing. But my right ear is swollen. It hurts a bit when I touch it, nothing unbareable, just a slight pain. But it is noticably swollen. There is no fluid coming out of it, just swollen with minor pain. Also I have been doing sss twice a day. Is this normal?

Re: Swollen Lobe
its seems like your lobe wasnt quite ready to stretch. if you downsize it will relieve some of the pressure and it will get better much faster. ive had to do that twice. its much easier to downsize and be "uneven" for a week or so than to fight with it

Thanks. I downsized to 16g. When I took it out there was blood and stuff. It feels much better now, but still swollen.

yeah, blood isnt good. your ear wasnt ready at all. just stay at 16g and baby your ear and make sure its healed all the way before trying to stretch again ^^

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. I just find it weird that when I stretched it that it didn't hurt, and didn't start swelling until about three days after stretching.

Re: Swollen Lobe
Same thing happened to me when I went to 0G... my left ear was fine but my right swelled up like crazy. I went back two sizes and took some ibuprofen and was totally fine in a couple days.
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

Re: Swollen Lobe
Yeah, it's much better now. The swelling is basically gone and I can move the earing again with out it hurting. I will probably give it a week or two before I do anything to it.
Re: Swollen Lobe
I'd give it a full month to ensure it's healed, because blood is probably a sign of a tear. Even with a teeny, tiny rip, you're gonna want to wait awhile to be sure it's healed. Whether that ear is just less stretchy, or something went wrong like your jewelry was flawed or it got twisted in your sleep, you want to ensure that any possible tear is not only healed but had time to get strong again, so there's no chance of tearing a second time. Continue the saline soaks as well until you're certain it's past healed.

Yeah, I think I definitely will wait a month. Because even though the swelling is gone, it still is sore after almost a week. It could have gotten twisted and moved around a lot because I had a captive bead ring in it so it could have moved around. But I ordered a stretching kid that came with 14g plugs so I will use that next to just to make sure nothing moves around in it.
