Well, my name is Caitlyn. I'm blank years old. To say I'm new to stretching wouldn't be lying, I've had an obsession with it for about three years now, but, my ears are currently pierced at the standard 20g. My mom won't let me stretch. Suck-tastic. She's also not open to compromise. I wanted to make her a deal. I said if I get straight A's all year, I thought that maybe I could put 14g's in. My mom's reply: No. Absolutely no consideration. All she wants to see are the bad things about stretching, the blow outs, cat butt, etc etc. Not the good things, there are too many to name, in my opinion. Anyway, that's my introduction of myself. Thoughts about what I can do to get her to atleast let me put in some 14g's? Thanks.

well, i assume that since you know the proper size of a standard piercing, you know not to skip from a 20g to a 14g, but stretch first with an 18g and then a 16g.

also, you will find many of the people here did not tell their parents when starting out. i know i didnt tell mine until they found out at 2g.

Tell them you won't be irresponsible while stretching. Show them that this is a way of being responsible. Make an example of all the people with messed up ears and show them you won't be like them. That you'll have common sense to stretch safely. Unless your parents are complete hardasses, it's easy to persuade them to do something that your knowledgeable about. Do research; learn everything you can and show them.
If all else fails. 14g is hardly noticeable.

Thanks for the great advice, but yes, my parents are "hardasses" as you put it lol. It seems that no matter how many powerpoints I make, they still don't listen. Oh, well...
