So i got my lobes pierced at 8g about 6 weeks ago. The issue that im having is
that there still really swollen and red. After about 6 days from the initial the piercing swelling was gone, and there wasnt alot of pain involved with the piercing anymore. around 3 weeks after that my ears flared up again got really swollen and red. They have both also developed a sort of blister looking thing on the bottom of the piercing. What im thinking is that i might be allergic to the surgical steel tunnels i have in. What do u guys think?
and if that is the problem should i maybe switch to glass?
any advice would be awesome.
Thanks.

It is definitely possible to be allergic but I would think it would be more immediate rather than popping up after 3 weeks. Have you been cleaning everything properly? What are you using to clean? Have you switched soaps or something? Also don't really touch them for the first 8 weeks or so and don't even take them out for the first 4 weeks. Also where exactly is this "blister"? is it on both piercings? and can you describe it a little better maybe?

I have not changed anything. I do SSS twice a day for my cleaning routine. i don't use soap on them. Ya there is on both of them. On the front of the piercing near the bottom of the jewelry. It kinds just looks like a little red blister. Almost looks like a little scab, but it never goes away.

I'd start with changing to glass plugs. How were they pierced? Continue the SSS and if you can afford it I'd pick up a can of H2Ocean and spritz it between soaks plus that stuff has an enzyme that helps kill bacteria and promote cell growth. Like I said try not to touch them or anything that may irritate them more and same goes for putting too much salt in the mix. Is this blister growing at all or staying the same size? Also if this stays you might want to call your piercer and/or doctor because it sounds like an infection possibly so it may need medical treatment or may need to be drained.
