Re: Taping at 6g

I just moved up to 4g this past Saturday with a taper, and I had zero issues. IMO, though, if you can get the PTFE tape to work around a small plug, go for it.

I really prefer taping at any size larger than 8g. It's a little tricky to get the hang of, but once you practice a little it's a much more gentle way to stretch your piercings. It's just about impossible to cause damage, because if it's too large it just won't go in, you can't overstretch like you might with a taper.

IMO dead stretching is the safest method as long as nothing is ever forced. Taping comes in second but there's still potential for damage. Keep the taping gradual, use lots of lubricant, and give your ears appropriate rest time between sizes.
The key to a safe stretch will always be time and listening to your body.

Bondage tape is really popular. So is PTFE plumber tape.
Don't use electric tape. The adhesive is nasty, containing carcinogens and other harmful chemicals.
