Skipping sizes question

Hey guys, I'm new here, soo, i'm Brett :') Hey!

I got my ear pierced around 2 months back to a 1.6mm and have cared for it since, 2 days ago I put my 2.0mm in but obviously didn't feel or notice any stretching really, this is obvious because i'm only going up by 0.4 :P

But I was wondering, should I put my 3.0mm in today, therefore almost skipping 2.0 or should I wait abit longer, I didn't feel anything when my 2.0 went in.

Thanks guys!
I know it's not good to rush or skip but I feel because it's still so small, maybe I should give it a try, rather than wasting time waiting for a 2.0 to settle when it isn't doing much aha.

Re: Skipping sizes question

Honestly, you shouldn't have even started stretching yet; your piercings probably aren't even fully healed (even if they seem healed on the outside). Before you start stretching, it's important to make sure your piercings are not only fully healed but strong enough/loosened up enough to be stretched. This usually takes about 6 months, and once you start never skip any sizes. I know small sizes don't sound like a lot to skip but it sets the foundation for all future stretches and you don't want to build up scar tissue early on. Also, by going from 2mm-3mm you'd be skipping 2.4mm AND going way too fast.

I highly suggest you read this guide before you start stretching: http://www.bodyjewelleryshop.com/forum/ ... garding-It
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

Re: Skipping sizes question

Well, as mentioned on the link you gave me and elsewhere on the web 2-3 months is recommended and it's varies from person to person, I felt my ear was ready for stretching so I did it, I will however take your advice on not skipping sizes, but where I live the piercing store recommended a 2.00 then a 3.00, they dont even stock 2.4

Sounds like you need to find a new shop. If they don't stock 10g, something is wrong. Anyway, Corazon has given you excellent info. You shouldn't have even THOUGHT about stretching until 5-6 months after the initial piercing. But, they are your ears, so no one can stop from making mistakes except for yourself. I, for one, value the shape of my lobes and want them to be healthy for the rest of my life, considering I only have one set. Stretching too early and building up scar tissue will give you that nice cat's asshole appearance should you ever decide to remove your jewelry and let them "heal."
2g lobes, want to be 0g
