Worried about results.

Hi, everyone. I got my ear pierced at 8g, I told my piercer that I wanted to stretch and he did it quite close in, saying that it was better since I'll have more skin and it will be better when I get to the big sizes. He said he did the same on himself and he has stretched quite a bit, and he's been piercing for 10 years. I'm no expert so I figured I'd ask for advice here.

I'll show how it looks, and hope someone experienced can tell whether it will cause trouble if I stretch or if it will be alright.

Re: Worried about results.

Because your ear doesn't have a predominant lobe, it does look a bit off. If your intention is to stretch, especially to larger sizes, you will have better success. When you have more pronounced lobe, you are more restricted to a central area for placement. This leaves you with a limited amount of skin under the jewelry and more susceptible to thinning of you lobes. As long as you stretch slow, you shouldn't have to worry about thinning but most people move much faster than their body can keep up with. Your piercer had good placement and in the long run, you will be happier its not further out. How far are you planning on stretching?
1 1/4" each lobe. 2g septum. 12g lebret.
6g tongue retired. 12g Hand webbing retired. 12g bridge retired.
12g madison retired. 10g ampallang regretfully retired.

Stretching goal: 1" again. No real need to stop if my ears still want to go.

Re: Worried about results.

Thank you for that reassuring answer, I feel alot better now :D

I have no real goal set at the moment, but I'm dreaming about 30mm's, hehe ;)

I've read up about people stretching too fast, so I don't think I'm in the danger zone of doing that. For the moment I figured I will do a stretch every two months once it has healed up.
