i'm a bit confused about why my ears won't stretch...i started stretching my ears in august of 2009 and i have been at 1/2" since september 2010. honestly, i've been stretching my ears correctly and every time i'd stretch up, it would be super easy.
in late june, anxious ol' me shoved a 7/16 silicone plug into a 00g taper and it kind of tore my inner earlobe (it didn't blow out) and that was one of the biggest regrets ever!!! i downsized immediately to 1g glass plugs and my ears were able to heal with the help of sea soaks, jojoba oil massages, and downsizing.
in early august, i was able to successfully get a 7/16g plug through my ear...THE CORRECT WAY. in early september, i was able to stretch to 1/2" and it slid right in.
i hadn't been stretching too fast AT ALL but what i'm trying to say is that, i've been at 1/2" since early september and i've been attempting to go up to 9/16ths for the past month. my ears have been super tight and ptfe tape hasn't helped me at all.
does anyone know why i haven't been able to stretch up to 9/16ths? is it scar tissue? my lobes are actually quite thick so i don't think that the issue of thin lobes would be a factor...HELP!!!
ears won't stretch!
Re: ears won't stretch!
my ears did this when i went from 00 to 1/2 inch i left the tapers in halfway and waited like half a day and put it the rest of the way through
and when i went to 5/8s it wasnt the smartest way ever but my ears held it perfectly i wore some silicone eyelets and i would hand stretcg my ears every hour or so pullin my lobes a lil or put my finger in the silicones and pull down then i put a 1/2 in plug insode the 1/2 inch silicone and made sure to oil massage a bunch and in 2 weeks with it doubled like that i put a 5/8 taper in and it litterally fell out i was at like 11/16 instead of 5/8s but went with 5/8s and it worked wonderfully

Re: ears won't stretch!
Some ears stretch fast and others stretch slow. It took me about 2 years to get up to an inch and have sense let the close to a 8g and am now back to 7/16. One thing I have learned is to let your ear grow new tissue and don't rush. If you have to use any force, its way to soon. As for tape, it hasn't helped me in stretching. Try using some eyelets and put heavy captive hoop in each for a weight. Thats what worked for me. The eyelet kept my lobe from taking abuse and the weights movement stimulated new cell growth.
1 1/4" each lobe. 2g septum. 12g lebret.
6g tongue retired. 12g Hand webbing retired. 12g bridge retired.
12g madison retired. 10g ampallang regretfully retired.
Stretching goal: 1" again. No real need to stop if my ears still want to go.
