8G to 6G problem?

I have been at 8G for just over a month and decided to get 6s. So I put them (acrylic tapers) in yesterday with absolutely no problem. Overnight they began to puss but there's no bleeding or anything. They are still pussing now. What should I do? :(

It's probably not puss, it's most likely just lymph. It's a clear fluid that your skin secretes that helps your skin to heal, that turns into "crusties".
If it was puss I'm pretty sure your ear would be red, swollen and very sore. Also puss is a yellowish/greenish colour.

Since you said you had no pain, bleeding or anything when you stretched and you waited a month, I'm guessing it's just lymph. Don't be alarmed, it's normal. Just do sea salt soaks and wash your ear in the shower (but don't take the jewellery out for the first week or 2).

ohh okay! Thanks so much :) yeah you're right, its not green or swollen or anything. I was just worried because it was perfectly fine before I went to 6.

that's because 6g is a bigger jump than all the stretches before it, which means more micro tears and more noticeable lymph leakage.
Glad to hear all is well though :)

You really shouldn't wear acrylic tapers (or any tapers) as jewellery- you should only use them to push through and then immediately following that, put in a steel, glass or titanium plug. Leaving acrylic in a fresh stretch leaves you prone to infection- and on top of that, the shape of a taper leaves it prone to being knocked around and putting uneven pressure on your stretch.

So my advice- get the taper out asap! And put in plugs (glass, steel or titanium).

I would actually downsize, you shouldn't have any noticeable lymph after a stretch, it's a sign that you've done damage to your lobe.
