Placement of a tattoo
Placement of a tattoo
Okay, I'm planning on going to get a tattoo maybe tomorrow. I definately am going to talk to the guy and get one drawn up and see how much its going to cost. I really think it would look good on my upper arm, but for some reason my parental unit (aka mother) thinks that I should get it like on my lower leg or back. She says that its easier to cover up on my leg. I'm not really sure about the whole tattoo on the leg thing. I was going to stick to all upper body like my arms and back. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm just curious.

Re: Placement of a tattoo
I'd REALLY love a forearm half sleeve.
But they aren't really futureproof, and you never know whats gonna happen in the future.
So I've settled on having a leg tattoo.
I think they look really nice. (though not always on super duper hairy legs)
If you're young, you can always save your arms until later. I'm sure you'll still have arms then
You'd be surprised how much short sleeve shirts fail to cover.
Its ultimately up to you though

I'm no chewbacca by anymeans, but the hair on my legs is one reason i'm apprehensive. I was really figuring that a t-shirt would cover it on the upper part of my arm. I wasn't planning on going real big.

Re: Placement of a tattoo
Personally, my first 4 tattoos were all on my legs, lol.
The reason was because I knew I was going to get other (and bigger) tattoos in the future. Arms and the Back are what I call 'prime real estate', Your back is your largest canvas. However, I think you said it was a memorial piece on the bored somewhere, right? You could always put it on your chest. Otherwise I find nothing wrong with putting it on your calf

It's not a revolution, it's a lifestyle.

Actually, yes this tattoo is going to have some meaning, but isn't going to be huge. I am planning one for my back after I get into slightly better shape. It will be a full back piece in memory of someone. I'm actually leaning more toward the side of my calf.
Re: Placement of a tattoo
Well I went and got it today. I put it on my calf
. It turned out sweet. The artist told me to go back in a week and he would touch it up if I saw anything that needed it, or add some small details. It's pretty sweet, I'm lovin it, and think I'm hooked.

Re: Placement of a tattoo
Aw thats cute!!!!
(in a totally manly way lol)
Are you getting it coloured? (I wouldn't)
I think that it looks nicer on your calf than it would've on your upper arm.
Its only really leg sleeves I dislike on hairy legs, and then they're have to be gorilla-rival hairy. Go to all that effort of a massive tattoo, and you can't see it for the hair...
Your legs arent that hairy XD
