20mm seams to hurt more than normal

Hi,
I'm on 20mm in one ear and 6 going up on my other.

On my 20mm, the piercing was abit off but i didn't relise until now, whatever i wear seams to push into the back of my head abit because its off and stings more than it should do.

I'm buying some silicone tunnels to wear on day to day and to sleep in, because the plastic ones just cause it to bleed slightly and weep abit.

Does anyone else have this? Is it because i maybe stretched to quick? or the piercing was off to start with?

Since we don't know your stretching history, nobody could tell you you went too fast without more info, but if you feel you should ask, then your answer is likely a yes.

You said you are wearing plastic plugs. I am assuming they are acrylic. Acrylic is. It good for daily wear. They are porous and can harbor bacteria. They can also irritate the skin (as you've seen) either through sensitivity or because they begin to leak chemicals into the skin.

If you are at 20mm you might be wise to sleep with your jewelry out as it can push against your head or get pulled and twisted in your sleep, causing trauma to your ears. I'm only at a 4g and I have to be choosy about what I wear to bed. My steel tunnels, for instance, can dig into my head if I lay on them wrong.

I would strongly suggest you ditch the acrylic stuff altogether and get some good steel or titanium stuff. Also, you might want to pull your jewelry out and just leave your lobe naked for a while so it can heal. Bleeding and weeping is a really bad thing.

Best of luck to you!

I had some flared plugs but they would slip out in my sleep because of the positioninng of the stretched piercing. Either way i might get some silicone ones for now to sleep in/while it stops weeping, i dont want titanium to fall out or into my ear or agrivate it

But that's what I was getting at. Try sleeping without jewelry in. I'd your jewelry pops out in your sleep and you can get it back in come morning, you shouldn't have any noteworthy shrinkage. Sleeping with naked lobes will help you heal faster. They will get the air and circulation that is important for healthy healing for any wound.

if your ear is bleeding and wheeping please please so not wear silicone yet .. it will irritate it more and silicone can grow to your skin and if you are seeing blood you have open skin .. I agree with ^ sleep naked.. at 20 mm you are big enough to not risk alot of shrinkage over night
