Just stretched my ears up to 8mm from 6mm. They were very ready to stretch, plugs were slipping out quite often etc. I used a steel taper like usual. I used bio oil as lube and put it in, went all the way down with ease and then it hit that point just before the end where you have to do that final push. Did it, hurt quite a bit like expected. Put the single flared plug in. Bit red and swollen etc, but that's usual.
Woke up this morning and on the bottom of my ear lobe, there are about three small red dots. I think they are burst blood vessels. I shut my finger in the door once and i had loads of these red dots all over my finger and it cleared up in about a week.
I'm presuming that they will clear up then. Am I right? Anyone had this experience before?

Re: Small red dots on newly stretched lobe
They could be very small tears.
6mm-8mm is way too big of a jump; it's a lot easier if you find some 7mm jewelry first. It's available on crazy-factory.com, glasswearstudios.com, bodyjewelleryshop.com, and a couple other places. If you are willing to downsize back to 6mm, you definitely should. Your ears will heal a lot faster and you won't have as much scar tissue. This is especially important if you want to stretch bigger.

I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

My body piercer told me, after you get to six, they only really sell plugs at 8mm. Also you cannot get 7mm tapers. Will these red dots go away?

Re: Small red dots on newly stretched lobe
Many piercers don't know very much about stretching, so be careful when asking them for advice. It doesn't make them bad piercers, they're just not always as informed about stretching as they should be.
You can definitely get 7mm plugs. I had two pairs of plugs in 7mm. I didn't need a taper because 6-7mm was such an easy stretch but here's proof that they exist: http://www.crazy-factory.com/product_in ... ts_id=1702
7mm tunnels/plugs: http://www.crazy-factory.com/product_in ... ts_id=1715

And my personal favorite style of plugs: https://www.glasswearstudios.com/cgi-bi ... egory=7CFP
I could give plenty more examples but you get the idea. 6mm-8mm is a huge jump, and unless you tape I think 7mm is essential.
To answer your question, your ears WILL heal, but they will heal better and be easier to stretch in the long run if you downsize. Building up scar tissue makes your ears way tougher to stretch.

Re: Small red dots on newly stretched lobe
Thanks. I decided to keep them in, and the dots have gone, and my ear is fine now
And my piercer had stretched ears (about an inch).
When I want to go to ten (00g), should I go straight to ten or should I get a 9mm plug?

Just because someone has stretched ears doesn't mean they know a lot about stretching. To be honest, MOST piercers don't give good stretching advice.
Anyway, I think most 00G is 9.5mm. I'm going to be stretching to 00G soon using these: http://www.bodyartforms.com/productdeta ... 1&index=16 in 9mm.
