So i used to have 3/4" and 1/2" holes in both lobes. i hadnt wore anything for about 1.5 years and am re stretching them. my main hole is back to 7/16" as of a week ago. i havent started the top hole yet. my question is: the stretches seems to be much easier than they were the first time around as if my ears remember where they were. I was going to start using electrical tape on my current plugs to get to the next size in a couple days as im not sore and the holes arent tight anymore at all. do you think this is safe or should i wait longer? Also has anyone ever used the tape method as i havent and always used tapers before i just dont want to buy a bunch of jewelry that i seem to be blowing through anyway.
Side note i just started re stetching 3 week ago and have gotten to this point with little to no resistance.
Strectching out my old holes (sounds bad i know)

dont use electrical tape. i dont know anything about taping other then use PTFE or bondadge tape and noting else. electronically tape has gross chemicals in it.

Agreed, electrical tape is AWFUL! The adhesive can irritate your ears really badly and harbor bacteria, and the tape itself is definitely not made out of anything that's safe for your skin.
But anyway, it is normal for lobes to be easier to stretch the second time around. Just go at a pace you feel comfortable with and never force anything.

I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

"I had no problems" is no reason to recommend something.
Think about it... electrical tape has GLUE on it, do you really think that's good for your skin? And WHY in the world would you buy that when you can buy a roll of plumber's tape for 97 cents at a home improvement store? It has no adhesive, AND it's way thinner so you can stretch gradually. You can pay more for something that will probably irritate the hell out of your lobes, or you can pay less for something that's safer and better for your ears.
If you want to take the risks, that's fine, but you really shouldn't be shooting down people's advice because it's "too cautious."

Any others have input on the use of tape vs tapers?
