IMO dead stretching is the safest method as long as nothing is ever forced. Taping comes in second but there's still potential for damage. Keep the taping gradual, use lots of lubricant, and give your ears appropriate rest time between sizes.

Could also try wearing it through Kaos ear skins. But the flares will likely determine how well it would work.

Sorry to butt in, but that timeline people keep posting is not accurate. There's no reason to allow less time for smaller sizes; they're just as important as the bigger ones.
