A true 4g is less than 1mm smaller than your current plugs, so that may explain the ease of getting them in.

With sizes that big I've read that you should be using the taping method, not tapers. You could try down sizing also to let your lobes thicken up, and do oil massages often.

I ordered the 2g steel stretching kit from BAF, it just got here today and I decided to check out the size of the plugs with the gauge reference card just to make sure they matched.
