That is pretty effin cool. I hate when I get plugs I really like and then go up a size and can't wear them anymore. Once you hit your goal it's whatever but to this day I still have small plugs that I love and can never wear, SUCKS! :(

If it doesn't bother you, don't worry about it. If the one is way too low, it could get too thin at larger sizes, so keep that in mind.

Another oil you may want to try is Emu oil. I love the stuff, makes my lobes feel awesome, never caused irritation. It appears that your right ear has started to blowout though, so I would also suggest downsizing.

I personally am against skipping sizes at all. I would say that the MINIMUM you should wait to go to your 12g jewelry is 2 weeks. As you put it, erring on the side of safety is always best. Listen to your lobes! Also, what exactly do you mean by "pre-sterilizing?"
