Taking it out and waiting is my best bet. Should it be okay if I stretch both lobes to 14g and waiting over 3 months before stretching again? I'm a little stubborn.

I have waited about 4 months after my initial piercing and stretch to a 14g from 18g. I got the taper through, but I cannot follow through with the single flared tunnel. Should I just leave my taper in for about a week? It is stainless steel. I know how people say it's bad to wear tapers as jewelery ...
