Hi all,

I am going to be starting to stretch my ears and I have a question.
My ears have never been pierced and I wanted to know if it would be better to get them pierced normally or get them semi guaged initially? :?

Thanks!

You can get them pierced at a larger size than average, I have personally pierced a lot of people with 10 gauge needles. Just make sure they are Completely healed before you do your first stretch.

Would you reccommend starting at a higher gauge?

I got pierced at 10G... my piercer offers up to 8G (which I kind of wish I would've gotten). But IMO it's definitely a good thing to do. It doesn't hurt much more or take much longer to heal than a smaller (14G or so) piercing. And no matter what gauge you get pierced at, I would highly recommend waiting 6 months, or at LEAST 4 months, after the initial piercing before you begin stretching. You have to make sure the hole is not only fully healed but also strong enough to be stretched.
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

Yeah, corazon is a good one to talk to about that :)
I think 10 is a good size to start with. I have no personal experience with getting my ears pierced with needles above a 12G. I did get my navel done with a 6G needle though, I don't suggest it LOL!

Well I started at a 10. Just as you said corazon_de_oro I wish I would have gone with an 8 :? I am still very excited to begin stretching, now I just have to wait until I heal!
